Erwin Ringel (April 27, 1921 – July 28, 1994) was an Austrian psychiatrist and neurologist. He dedicated his life to suicide prevention and is known for identifying the pre-suicide syndrome in 1960. That same year, he founded the International Association for Suicide Prevention, aiming to reduce the rates of suicide and improve mental health awareness globally.
