Esam S. Omeish is a Libyan-born American physician who has been the chief of the Division of General Surgery at Inova Alexandria Hospital since 2006. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Dar Al-Hijrah mosque and was the former President of the Muslim American Society (MAS). In 2005, he represented MAS at a news conference promoting an anti-terrorism campaign. Omeish was appointed to the Virginia Commission on Immigration in 2007 and ran unsuccessfully for a position in the Virginia House of Delegates in 2009.
