Estella Payton was an influential African American television personality, best known for her role as a co-star on the Woman's World cooking show that aired on WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama, starting in 1956. Initially appearing off-camera, she later gained prominence by appearing on air, receiving third billing, and actively participating in cooking demonstrations. Her dynamic with co-host Connie Bea Hope was characterized by their light-hearted squabbles. The show's local significance was likened to that of Martha Stewart and Julia Child. Payton lived until the age of 95 and was the great aunt of baseball legend Hank Aaron.
