Esther L. George, born on January 15, 1958, in Faucett, Missouri, is the former president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, serving from 2011 to 2023. She earned her BSBA in Business Administration and an MBA from Missouri Western State University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, respectively. She joined the Kansas City Fed in 1982, eventually leading various divisions. She was appointed Kansas City Fed President on October 1, 2011, and retired on January 31, 2023, after reaching the mandatory retirement age.
