Esther Lyman (later Kelly) was a catcher in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from Peoria, Illinois. She played for the South Bend Blue Sox during the 1946 season. After her baseball career, she worked as a youth bowling instructor in Decatur, Illinois, and contributed to multiple bowling and softball associations. Married to George R. Kelly, she raised three children and had five grandchildren. Lyman passed away on May 25, 1991, just after her 64th birthday and was honored in a display at the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988.
