Eti Saaga (1950-2017) was a prominent Samoan poet, writer, journalist, and producer. He is best known for his influential poem "Me the Labourer", which is part of university curricula across Oceania. Emigrating to American Samoa in 1978, he worked for over 20 years as a press officer and speechwriter for Congressman Eni Faleomavaega. A graduate of Samoa College, Saaga's literary and media contributions have made a lasting impact on Pacific Island culture. He passed away in Honolulu and is survived by four children.
