Etsuko Bushika (born December 20, 1928) is a Japanese children’s poet and children's literature writer. Born in Tokyo, she graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan No. 8 High School. She has authored many works including children's poetry, picture books, retellings, translations, and children's biographies. In 1983, she won the Sankei Children's Publishing Culture Award and the Japan Children's Song Award for her collection 'Neko Zenmai.' In 2014, she received the Japan Children's Literature Association Award for 'Hoshi,' along with another Japan Children's Song Award.
