Etsuo Higa, known as Yets Higa, was a prominent Okinawan American businessman born in 1915 in Honokaa, Hawaii. He significantly expanded his father's trucking business into Y. Higa Enterprises, which became a multi-million dollar company with international branches. Higa also opened the first Pepsi-cola bottling plant in Japan. In addition to his business ventures, he was involved in sports, notably baseball, and facilitated Major League games in Hawaii and Japan. He passed away on July 31, 2000, due to Alzheimer's disease.
