Eugene Louis Dodaro is the United States Comptroller General and head of the Government Accountability Office (GAO), having assumed office on March 13, 2008. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of the GAO from October 1, 2000, to March 12, 2008. Dodaro was appointed to succeed David Walker and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate for a term of 15 years on December 22, 2010. He was born on May 7, 1951, and grew up in Monessen, Pennsylvania.
