Eugenio Vélez-Troya (1921-2007) was a prominent Spanish detective and criminologist, known as one of the most experienced private detectives in Spain's history. He founded the first legally recognized detective agency in Spain and established the first National Association of Detectives. He contributed to the profession by organizing the first World Congress of Detectives in Europe and introduced the polygraph to Spain. With extensive involvement in criminal investigations, he worked on over 84,000 cases. He received numerous accolades for his professional contributions and was active in various criminological associations.
