Dominating the women's sprinting scene in South Africa during the 1980s, she won the 100 and 200 meters at national championships for ten consecutive years. With personal bests of 11.06 seconds in the 100 m and 22.36 seconds in the 200 m, both remain national records. She faced challenges in international competition due to sports boycotts during apartheid but was active in her final year in 1993, earning two bronze medals at the African Championships.
