Ewart W. Francis (1912-1991) was a notable Belizean lawyer and politician. Born in Belize City, he studied law in the UK and became a barrister in 1952. Francis practiced law in British Honduras starting in 1953 and served as a land surveyor for the government. He was the President of the Senate from 1965 to 1974 and served as Director of the Development Finance Corporation during the same period. He was also the head of the Belize Bar Association and was married twice, having four children.
