Fahmy Abd El Hameed (February 1, 1939 - January 17, 1990) was an Egyptian director, born in the Abbasiyah neighborhood of Cairo. After the death of his father when he was four, he lived with his mother and moved to the family home in Qalyubia until his death. He joined the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, graduating in 1963 with a specialization in engraving, and began working in Egyptian television in 1964, focusing on animation under the mentorship of the Mheib brothers.
