Faisal al-Yasiri (1933 - October 27, 2022) was a renowned Iraqi novelist and director. He began his career in journalism in 1948, published short stories, and wrote his first novel in 1952. He studied directing and television production in Vienna before working as a director at various television stations, including in Baghdad and East Germany. Throughout his career, he directed several films and television series, contributing significantly to Iraqi culture. He was a founder and director of Al-Diyar Iraqi Satellite Channel and was married to actress Hind Kamel.
