Farida Arman was an Egyptian actress and documentary filmmaker, born on February 20, 1938, in Cairo. She graduated from the Faculty of Arts in 1959 as one of three female journalists in her class. Over her career, she directed more than 400 documentary films and worked on over 600 films in various capacities. Arman introduced the modern concept of music videos to Egyptian television and served as the editor of the Radio and Television magazine. She documented events of the October War in 1973 and passed away on December 18, 2018.
