Farida Faisol, born July 7, 1939, in Solo, is a renowned national ballet dancer who founded the ballet school Nritya Sundara. She began her artistic education at age 8 in Singapore, pursued dance in Moscow, and further studied with Merce Cunningham and Martha Graham in the United States. Returning to Indonesia in 1958, she established her school. Farida's deep passion for dance led her to pursue ballet after being inspired by the film 'Red Shoe'. She has also taught at the Jakarta Arts Institute and has a background of international dance education.
