Mohamed Afzal Faried Pierkhan, born on August 8, 1960, is a Surinamese businessman and former minister. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and later as the Minister of Labor and temporarily the Minister of Education in the late 1990s. Since 2007, he has been the honorary consul for Morocco in Suriname. Pierkhan co-founded the Naya Kadam party and currently leads the Rapar Broadcasting Network and FaFam Publishing, which publishes Dagblad Suriname. He is also known for his involvement in religious organizations and for donating his salary from a government position to charity.
