She was honored as a People's Writer of Kazakhstan in 1996 and received the Abai State Prize of the Kazakh SSR in 1979. Onggharsynova authored several poetry books and publications, contributing significantly to Kazakh literature. She passed away on January 23, 2014, in Astana.
