Farnoosh Moshiri is an Iranian-born novelist, playwright, and librettist who teaches creative writing and literature at University of Houston–Downtown. She has published five novels including 'Against Gravity' which received notable recognition from Barnes and Noble. Moshiri is awarded for her contributions to literature and advocacy for peace and social justice. She also created a chamber opera titled 'The Bricklayer'. Her work addresses themes of exile and she has lectured at various educational institutions.
