Farouk I was the tenth ruler of Egypt from the Muhammad Ali dynasty and the last King of Egypt before his son ascended to the throne. Born on February 11, 1920, he became king after the death of his father, Fuad I, in 1936. Farouk's reign lasted for sixteen years until he was deposed in 1952 during the Egyptian Revolution. Following the revolution, he ceded power to his son, Ahmed Fuad II, who was a minor. Farouk died in exile on March 18, 1965, on the island of Capri. His titles included King of Egypt and Sudan.
