Farouk Shousha was an Egyptian writer and literateur born on January 9, 1936, in Damietta. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University in 1956 and from Ain Shams University in 1957. He began his career as a teacher before joining the radio in 1958, where he progressed through various roles to become its president in 1994. Additionally, he was a professor of Arabic literature at the American University in Cairo.
