He specialized in sports medicine and became a prominent political figure during Franco's regime. He served as the civil governor of Badajoz and Navarra, where he survived a terrorist attack. He was also interim president of the Diputació de Tarragona and held various positions in sports administration. After retiring from politics in 1977, he continued practicing medicine in Badajoz until his retirement in 2013.
