Fedor Samokhin (1918-1992) was a Soviet writer, journalist, and translator, known as one of Kyrgyzstan's oldest Russian writers. A member of the USSR Writers' Union since 1958, he represented the narrative styles of 'Kənd' and 'Leytenant.' His works reflect the life, history, and modernity of the Kyrgyz Republic, including several notable pieces on the Great Patriotic War, most famously the story 'Çolponbay,' which highlights the heroism of Soviet Hero Cholponbay Tuleberdiyev. He received honors for promoting Kyrgyz Soviet literature.
