Felicitat Duce Ripollés was a prominent figure in fashion design education, founding the LCI Barcelona school in 1928. Born in the Gràcia neighborhood of Barcelona on March 13, 1908, she received a scholarship to study sewing at age twelve, learning from the finest tailors. Understanding the need for mass production for popular classes, she innovated with her own pattern-making method at her fashion school. Duce was a pioneer in distance learning, hosted a radio program on sewing, collaborated on film costumes, and published a book outlining her system, Feli. She passed away on February 8, 2000.
