She is renowned for her role as Lynette Scavo, the busy supermom, in the ABC television series Desperate Housewives, which earned her an Emmy Award. Huffman also received a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of a transgender woman in the independent film Transamerica. In March 2019, she was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit fraud in a nationwide college admissions scandal and later pleaded guilty.
