Felipe Sevilla del Río was a Mexican writer, historian, and poet from Colima. Born on February 12, 1910, he wrote early verses and poems about Colima. Notably, he published 'Brief study on the conquest and founding of Colima' and was appointed life president of the Colima History Society. After personal tragedies in 1962, he focused on historical research. In 1974, he released 'Literary and Historical Prosas,' compiling writings about Colima's history, religion, and politics. He passed away on November 28, 1982, and is honored with namesakes at the University of Colima.
