He grew up in a large family of seven siblings and began playing the accordion at a very young age. Following the loss of his sight at eleven, he rose to fame after the war, performing high-level concerts and folk dances throughout the region, especially in Debagoiena and surrounding areas. He collaborated with various bertsolaris and was an honorary member of Hauspoz Euskal Herriko Soinujoleen, a prominent accordionist association.
