Ferenc Badiny Jós, born Jorcsik Ferenc on June 3, 1909, in Gács, was a Hungarian historian, linguist, Sumerologist, and founder of a religion. He was a self-taught scholar whose works were not accepted by the academic community. He advocated scientifically disproven theories such as the linguistic connection between Sumerian and Hungarian languages and the alleged Parthian descent of Jesus. He changed his name from Jorcsik to Jós before 1940 and adopted his mother's surname, Badiny.
