Ferenc Mártonfi (June 13, 1945 – June 20, 1991) was a Hungarian linguist and sinologist, recognized for his contributions to the fields of sinology and Korean studies. He was noted for his early promise as a polyglot linguist during his school years and became a prominent phonologist and sinologist. His work laid the foundation for the system of Hungarian transcription of the Korean language. He made significant strides in the understanding and teaching of these languages in Hungary.
