Ferit Edgü (February 24, 1936 – July 22, 2024) was a Turkish novelist, poet, and essayist. He started his higher education at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts, specializing in painting. Later, he moved to Paris to continue his academic life. Upon returning to Turkey, he established a publishing house known as Publishing Island, where he published numerous works of local poets and foreign authors from 1976 to 1990, with many pieces translated into various languages across the literary spectrum.
