Fernando António Aires Ferreira was a Portuguese politician from the Socialist Party, serving as the Mayor of Torre de Moncorvo from 1985 to 2013. He was elected at a young age of 29 and completed seven consecutive terms. In 2013, he could not run for mayor again due to term limits and ran for the Municipal Assembly but was not elected. He was found dead alongside his ex-wife in June 2014, leading to speculation about a suicide pact. A park was inaugurated in 2020 in his memory.
