Fernando Purón Johnston was a Mexican politician born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, in 1975. He was a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (Partido Revolucionario Institucional). Purón served as the mayor of Piedras Negras from 2014 until 2017. His political career was marked by his commitment to public service in his hometown before he was tragically killed on June 8, 2018.
