Fernando Simón Soria is a Spanish epidemiologist from Zaragoza, born in 1963. Since 2012, he has served as the director of the Health Emergency Coordination Center at the Spanish Ministry of Health. He became widely known for his role as spokesperson during the Ebola crisis in Spain in 2014 and more prominently as the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Remarkably, he tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on March 30, 2020.
