He began bodybuilding in 1973, inspired by Franco Columbu, and became Yugoslav champion for an unprecedented 15 consecutive years. His life was tragically cut short when he was killed during the Bosnian War. Following his death, in 2009, his remains were discovered in a mass grave, and he was buried in July that year. His son was also a victim of violence years later.
