His real name is Haruji Uehara, and he hails from Naha, Okinawa Prefecture. He graduated from Okinawa Kōnan High School but dropped out from Nihon University, where he studied physical education. He is the younger brother of Yasuharu Uehara, a former WBA World Junior Lightweight Champion.
