Flor Aarts (Mestreech, November 17, 1934 - June 29, 2021) was a Dutch-Limburgian linguist. He was a professor of English at Radboud University Nijmegen and gained prominence through his various books and articles concerning the Limburgish language, specifically the Mestreechs dialect. Aarts studied English, earning his doctorate in 1967. His interests focused on linguistics, especially the grammar differences between English and Dutch. After retirement in 1994, he continued to teach briefly at the Volksuniversiteit and wrote several popular science books about his native language.
