Florin Iaru, born Florin Râpă on May 24, 1954, in Bucharest, is a Romanian poet. He completed his studies at the Faculty of Letters at the University of Bucharest in 1968. His poetry gained international exposure through the Warsaw Metro Project in Poland, showcasing his work alongside other notable poets including Ioana Nicolaie from Romania and Hungarian poets such as Orsolya Karafiáth, Lajos Parti Nagy, and Ákos Szilágyi.
