Floyd 'Candy' Johnson (1922-1981) was an American jazz saxophonist known for his versatile playing on alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones. He began his career as a drummer and played in blues bands before transitioning to saxophone. Johnson performed with notable bands including Andy Kirk's Twelve Clouds of Joy and the Count Basie Orchestra. He had a significant influence in rhythm and blues and funk-jazz genres. Later in life, he taught music in schools after retiring. His debut album, 'Candy's Mood', was released in 1973. He was nicknamed 'Candy' due to his sweet tooth.
