Fodéba Keita (January 19, 1921 - May 27, 1969) was a Guinean dancer, playwright, composer, choreographer, poet, and politician. He founded Africa's first professional theatrical troupe and composed Guinea's national anthem, 'Liberty'. Born in Siguiry, he studied in Senegal and Paris, establishing influential art companies and writing key literary works, including 'African Poems' and 'School Principal'. Keita served in the Guinean government but was accused of conspiracy against President Ahmed Sékou Touré, ultimately leading to his execution in 1969 after years of political repression.
