Alexander Foley Martin was a Canadian professional ice hockey player born on January 4, 1901. He played for the Calgary Tigers in the Western Canada Hockey League during the early 1920s. Known for his stick-handling and defensive skills, Martin was not a top scorer. Tragically, he died at the young age of 22 from blood poisoning during the 1923-24 season's opening road trip. He was the older brother of Ron Martin, who played in the NHL with the New York Americans.
