Forugh Farrokhzad (December 29, 1934 – February 13, 1967) was one of the most prominent Iranian poets of modern literature. Born into a military family in Tafresh, she published her first collection of poetry, "The Captive," in 1955, gaining recognition for her controversial feminist ideas. After a turbulent personal life including marriage and divorce, she focused on her literary career, eventually producing significant works such as "New Birth." Her contributions continue to influence Persian literature, and her posthumously published poem "Let’s Believe in the Beginning of Cold Season" is considered a masterpiece in modern Persian poetry.
