He served in the Missouri Senate and House of Representatives, holding positions such as Senate Republican leader and House Assistant Minority Republican Floor Leader. He was notable for being the first Missouri legislator to receive the 'Small Business Guardian' award in 1988. Flotron is recognized for his unique appearance as the only Republican male lobbyist with a ponytail in Jefferson City after leaving the state legislature.
