Francisco Castán Messeguer was a Spanish religious martyr born on February 1, 1911, in Fonz, Spain. He became a member of the Clarettian congregation and was known for his simplicity and dedication. He was arrested by anarchist militias during the Spanish Civil War and executed along with 19 companions on August 15, 1936. His remains were later exhumed and identified, leading to his beatification by Pope John Paul II on October 25, 1992. He is commemorated by the Catholic Church on the anniversary of his martyrdom.
