Francisco Javier Cruz Jiménez is a Mexican football player born on May 24, 1966, in San Luis Potosí. He played for clubs such as Monterrey and Tigres UANL, gaining popularity for his scoring ability. Known as 'El Abuelo', he briefly played in Spain with Logroñés. Cruz was part of the Mexican national team during the qualifiers for the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He retired on May 9, 1999, and officially announced his retirement on April 16, 2006. He later attempted to work as a coach with Tigres UANL.
