Francisco Michavila Pitarch is a Spanish applied mathematics professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has been an emeritus professor since September 2019. He founded and directed the UNESCO Chair in University Management and Policy until November 2017. Furthermore, he has served as honorary rector of Universitat Jaume I and directed the INCREA Chair focused on innovation, creativity, and learning until 2018. Between 2018 and 2019, he was an education advisor representing Spain at the OECD, UNESCO, and the Council of Europe.
