Franco Colombo was an Italian journalist and public official, born in Naples on March 9, 1931, and passed away in Rome on September 19, 2002. He served as the second director of TG1 from 1980 to 1981, was the leading contributor for Gazzetta del popolo, and worked as a correspondent for RAI in Paris from 1982. He was also a member of the editorial committee of the monthly publication Prospettive nel mondo and held the position of CEO of Rav from 1987. He was a cousin of Emilio Colombo.
