Frank Borman (March 14, 1928 - November 7, 2023) was an American astronaut, test pilot, aviation engineer, and Air Force officer. He set a 14-day endurance record in space aboard Gemini 7 and is most renowned as the commander of Apollo 8, the first mission to orbit the Moon. Alongside Jim Lovell and William Anders, he was one of the first 24 humans to fly around the Moon. After his NASA career, he became the CEO of Eastern Air Lines from 1975 to 1986 and received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
