Frank Martinus Arion was a Dutch writer, poet, and linguist born on December 17, 1936, in Willemstad, Curaçao. He wrote in both Dutch and Papiamentu, a Creole language of the Caribbean. His most famous work is the novel 'Doppeltes Spiel', published in 1973. Arion is also known for his research on the origins of Papiamentu and for advocating for its use as a medium of instruction in schools. He passed away on September 28, 2015, in his hometown of Willemstad.
