Frank Walter Mussell is a retired Air Marshal who served as commander of both the Rhodesian Air Force and the Air Force of Zimbabwe. Born on May 31, 1932, in Harare, he joined the Southern Rhodesia Air Force in 1952. Mussell climbed through the ranks, holding significant positions such as wing commander and director-general operations. He became the Air Force Chief of Staff in 1973 and was the last commander of the Rhodesian Air Force until its renaming after Zimbabwe's independence in 1981.
