Frank Wills was an American security guard, best known for his role in thwarting the break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate complex in Washington, D.C. on June 17, 1972. At the age of 24, Wills discovered that the locks of the complex had been tampered with and called the police. This led to the arrest of five men attempting to install illegal listening devices, which sparked the Watergate scandal and ultimately President Richard Nixon's resignation in 1974. Despite being celebrated, Wills faced personal challenges, struggling with employment and poverty.
